The Macomb High girls golf team returned to action Wednesday, heading to Metamora to take part in the Redbird Classic at Metamora Fields GC.
The Bombers finished fourth out of 12 teams, posting a team score of 373.
Senior Sophie Wilson led the way for MHS, finishing in sixth place with an 85 on the 4,939 yard, Par 71 layout.
Reese Watson tied for 16th place with a 92, while Taylor Mann tied for 20th with a 94.
Mullen Butcher posted a score of 102 to finish in a tie for 35th.
Dunlap’s Sydney Hunt won medalist honors, carding a 72.
In the team standings, Dunlap won the title with a score of 335.
Morton was second with a score of 341, followed by Bloomington Central Catholic (364) and Macomb.
Following the Bombers in the team standings were Peoria Notre Dame (375), Metamora (381), Quincy High (394), Dunlap “B” (398), Eureka (433), Champaign St. Thomas More (458), Geneseo (473) and Washington (483).
Peoria Richwoods, East Peoria, Limestone did not field full squads and did not figure in the team scores.
The Bombers were slated to face Rushville- Industry Thursday at Scripps Park Golf Course in Rushville.
MHS then returns to action Aug. 27, hosting Quincy Notre Dame, Quincy High and Rock Island H.S. at Gold Hills.
