The Bushnell Town and Country Festival opens Wednesday, August 20, with a carnival sprawling along both sides of the railroad tracks on East and West Main Street. The festival runs through Saturday, August 23, featuring nightly live entertainment at the main stage in East Side Park, plus a craft show, flea market, baked goods auction, antique tractor and car show, firemen’s water fight, and the delicious VFW beef or chicken and noodle dinner. Originally created as a merchants’ appreciation event, the festival celebrates community pride and local heritage. It brings residents and visitors together with unique attractions that reflect Bushnell’s agricultural and industrial roots.
Bushnell is a living example of the American spirit. Its rich history began in 1854 with the Northern Cross Railroad and continues today with a strong emphasis on hard work and service—to neighbors and to the nation.
Known as “The Small Town with a Big Heart,” this year's theme, Bushnell is framed by corn and soybean fields and home to several manufacturing facilities that employ hundreds of residents. The festival honors this strong community spirit and the city’s vibrant identity.
