Thomas Watson Home – 519 East Washington St., Macomb
Thomas Wastson was a highly respected citizen of Macomb and died at his home at 519 East Washington Street on February 16, 1916. He was born near Campbelltown, Argyleshire, Scotland in 1836, came to the USA in 1851 and settled near Camp Creek. He farmed in Scotland Township until his retirement in November of 1903 when he moved to this city and purchased the Asher Blount property on West Carroll Street where he lived for two years. He then sold that property and purchased a lot and built this pictured home on East Washington in 1905. He had married Margaret Barclay and had one son and five daughters. He was a member of the Camp Creek Presbyterian church. This home still stands today.
