The Rotary of Macomb meets Tuesdays at noon at the First Presbyterian Church.
Aug. 12, 2025, Lorelei Taylor -West, Rebound Rotary Exchange Student, was the guest speaker at the 7th weekly meeting of the Rotary of Macomb Club meeting held on Tuesday.
Lorelei gave an excellent presentation on her trip to Argentina including a map demonstrating where she was living with three different host parents, the social culture, her school, photos of her two trips she took one to southern Argentina and the other to Northern Argentina. She also talked about the food and shared an Argentina chocotorta dessert with the members. She was asked by one host family to make them an American apple pie, which she did even though it was her first time and it looked delicious. Sleep deprivation was a challenge for her, school began at 7:30 am and was out at 1:10pm. From 2 -5pm people would mostly stay home because businesses would be closed for “siesta” but when activities resumed, many would go until 2 am, for example her Rotary Club meetings were at 9pm. All in all she truly enjoyed her time there and thanked the members of the Rotary Club for the opportunity.
