Caregiving for a loved one can feel like a huge responsibility that, at times, might overwhelm us. This could lead to high levels of stress, anxiety, and depression for the caregiver. How we deal with the stress associated with caregiving affects the caregiver, the person receiving the care, and our family dynamics.
Caregivers who care for themselves take better care of their loved ones.
This dynamic 9-week class provides caregivers with the tools they need to improve their coping skills and sense of well-being, which, in turn, benefits everyone. In this program we learn about stress and its effects, practice stress management techniques, and work toward developing better problem- solving skills.
The class is led by two trained co-facilitators and is free to the public. Materials are also provided for each attendee. Past class participants enjoyed the class interactions, activities and valuable coaching techniques- don’t miss this opportunity for gaining skills and sharing experiences. Please join us beginning September 3rd, from 2:00-3:30 at the YMCA Senior Center. Register by calling (309) 837-5733 by August 29. Class size is limited.
