Randy Joe James age 70 of Colchester, passed away Sunday, August 3, 2025, at the Macomb Post Acute Care Center. He was born February 16, 1955, in Macomb to Joseph and Juanita Gloyd James. Randy was united in marriage in Colchester on August 12, 1979, to Darla Welch.
Surviving to mourn his passing is his wife of 45 years, Darla James, Colchester, 1 son: Tony James, Colchester, 1 granddaughter: RandiJo James, Colchester, 1 brother: Tim (Wanda) James, Macomb, 1 Nephew: Brandon James, and 1 niece: Skylar Lara.
Randy was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents and 1 daughter: Deidra James.
Randy retired after 22 years from Building Services at Western Illinois University, in Macomb. He along with his son and wife owned and operated James and Son Mechanical Repair in Colchester. He was a 30 year member of the Argyle Gas Engine Association. He loved to watch NASCAR, he and some of his friends went to see the Daytona 500 in person. Randy loved to work on equipment, he especially enjoyed collecting Case Equipment, through the years his collection is over 30 pieces. Most of all Randy loved his family and enjoyed every moment he spent with them.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, August 11, 2025, at the Jones Funeral Chapel in Colchester, with Rev. Jim Clayton. Burial will follow the services at Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Colchester. Visitation with the family will be 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. Sunday, August 10, 2025, at the Jones Funeral Chapel. Friends may view from 8:30 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. Sunday at the Funeral Home.
