Cooper’s Candy Concoctions
If the name Jennifer Cooper sounds familiar, it may be because she is a teacher at Macomb Middle School. However, many of you encountered Jennifer last weekend at Macomb Farmer’s Market wearing a different hat.
Jennifer owns and operates a small growing business called Cooper’s Candy Concoctions, and she is a master maker of 13 varieties of delicious homemade fudge!
Don’t expect Cooper to share any of her fudge secrets with you because the recipe is a family heirloom in its fourth generation.
Cooper’s Candy Concoctions has been setting up at such places as the Fulton County and Schuyler County fairs, as well as Farmer’s Markets in Canton, East Peoria. Pekin and now Macomb. She will also be setting up her fudge shop at the Macomb Altrusa in November and in Lewistown, where she resides, during the Spoon River Scenic Drive in October.
While Jennifer has been making candy for fun for over 12 years, she just formally went into business this past June.
Since Ms. Cooper is also a teacher, and school is about to begin, you may not see her at this fall’s Macomb Farmer’s Markets. However, she was quite impressed with the market in Chandler Park and plans to be a full-time vendor next year. Cooper loved that Macomb’s market is right in the center of town and that the people in Macomb are so friendly.
As a tease, here are a few of the flavors of fudge you can expect to find the next time you encounter Cooper’s Candy Concoctions: Chocolate, caramel, strawberry, blueberry, oreo and lemon (she also does turtles and cookies). Yum!!
