90, of Macomb
Donald Ira Mueller, 90, of Macomb, passed away at 12:57 AM on Monday June 16, 2025. He was born at home in Hayfield, Minnesota on February 23, 1935 to Ira and Alice (Jensen) Mueller. The oldest of four children, he spent most of his summers on the Jensen Farm in Hayfield.
He attended the University of Minnesota with a major in Animal Husbandry and Ag Economics. After graduation he joined the Army ROTC as a 2nd Lt. After leaving the army he went to work for Cargill, retiring after 39 years. He also co-owned The Old Dairy from 2004 until 2011. He attended Trinity Lutheran Church, where he served as the treasurer for 13 years.
Donald married Myra (Krieger) Mueller, with whom he had 5 children. They later divorced. He later married Peggy (Nicholas) Mueller and gained 6 more children. Peggy preceded him in death in 2006. He is survived by his sisters Mary (David) Witt, Sue (Rick) Toso; sister-in-law Patty Mueller; Ex wife Myra Mueller,10 children, Paul (Bernadette) Mueller, Donna (Joe) Minnich, Nancy (Gary) Schmoldt, Mark Mueller, Rebecca (Jim) Garlick, Robin (Bill) Monson, JoAnna (Bruce) Eidson, Ketra (Bill) Kuniej, An (Kyle) Woolfolk, Jim (Nicki) Nicholas, 26 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alice and Ira Mueller, a brother Charles Mueller, son and daughter-in-law David and Jennifer Mueller, his wife Peggy, and a grandson, Nicholas Weist.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday August 9, 2025 at the Trinity Lutheran Church, where visitation will be held one hour prior. Services will also be livestreamed on the church’s Facebook and YouTube pages. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church or MDH Hospice.
