Washington Street Project Begins in Bushnell

Preparations are being made to replace sanitary sewer mains on Washington Street. According to a statement from David Raymond, City of Bushnell Street Department, approximately 10 trees will need to be removed off the city terrace. The contractor will remove and clean up the trees. The project will affect Washington Streets from Gridley St. north to W. Harris Ave. Contractors may begin tree removal Monday, July 21st 2025. The following week of July 28th workers may begin moving water services. Some road and driveway blockages may occur. The City apologizes for any inconvenience, this will be done is a timely manner. When crews move water meter pits, water service will be interrupted.

The steer department will attempt to coordinate this with residents. If a lead line is encountered the line will be replaced by the contractor. Garbage collection and recycle will be coordinated with the contractor and garbage company along with city forces. Sanitary sewer replacement is possibly going to begin late September or early October. More information on this will be available when this project nears actual dates. On traffic control and protection, the contractor will be allowed to close one block of street at a time during work hours. Proper advance notification will need to be given to public works for a public service announcement, and to alert emergency services.
