Simmons Brothers Receive Local Scholarships to Fund their Education

Ben Simmons and David Simmons are the recipients of local scholarships to fund their post-secondary education.

Ben (20) was granted a renewable $2400 scholarship from the Mellinger Foundation, based in Monmouth (https://www.mellinger. org/). Ben is a rising junior at Macalester College in St. Paul, MN, and he is double majoring in computer science and linguistics, with a minor in physics. He is a 2023 graduate of the Illinois Math and Science Academy in Aurora.

David (18) also was granted a renewable $2400 scholarship from the Mellinger Foundation. Additionally, he is the recipient of a $2500 scholarship from the NCTA--Rural Broadband Association Foundation for Rural Services (https://www.ntca.org/ programs/youth-programs/ scholarships), in partnership with McDonough Telephone Cooperative in Colchester. David is a rising first-year student at Pomona College in Claremont, CA, where he plans to study political science, math, and music. He is a 2025 graduate of Macomb High School.

Ben and David are the sons of Bob and Michelle Holschuh Simmons of Macomb.
