Ellen Marvene Raymond, 90, of Macomb passed away at 12:21 a.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield with her daughters by her side.
She was born on June 15, 1935 in Macomb to Carl Edwin and Elizabeth Maude John Reid. She married Charles J. Raymond on November 25, 1961. He survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Lisa Rutledge of Macomb and Jan (Dan) Strange of Macomb; nine grandchildren, Chris (Amy) Rutledge, Greg (Stacy) Strange, Jessica (Nate) Puccini, Amy Gossage, Tiffany Strange, Chelsey (Ryan) Spreiter, Desiray (Jason) Taylor, Kiara Strange and Trinity Strange; twelve great-grandchildren; four sisters, Joan Raymond, Ruth McClain, Judy Olson and Louella (Chuck) Peterson and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Marvene lived in Macomb all of her life. She worked at Town Talk Bakery, then owned and operated J and M Wash “n” Dry in Bushnell. She is a member of the Macomb Assembly of God Church and in her younger years was a Misionettte leader for daisies. She was also in FHA and enjoyed reading and singing. Marvene loved spending time with her family, church family and friends. She was always thoughtful, remembering special occasions by a call or a card.
Funeral services were held Monday, July 14, 2025 at the Macomb Assembly of God Church with pastor Mike Williams officiating. Burial was in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Macomb.
